Hey! I’m JJ,
A Personal Trainer and Nutrition Coach based in the Stamford, CT/Westchester, NY area who’s been working hard to improve the lives of my clients since 2015.
I believe the best plan is the one that’s attainable and sustainable. So, I won’t promise any fast-track magic, new diets, or sell you gimmicks - I’m committed to giving you only high quality information and the best chances of achieving your goals.
Everyone’s “look” or goal is different - that’s not what’s most important to me. What’s most important to me is that your goals are important to you, and you’re willing to work hard to achieve them.
My Background ↓
Background
I’m a NY native who grew up loving sports and playing baseball year-round but was never one to run to the weight room (or run, like, at all). After graduating college with a certified degree in being “skinny fat”, I spent much of my free time (see; commuting to my corporate job in NYC) learning as much as I could about movement, muscle growth, calorie burn, quality food, and all the things that go along with making yourself better.
Still, like so many others, I learned the hard way. I gave myself tendonitis, blew out my back deadlifting and saw the negative impacts that stress and lack of sleep can cause.
With time I learned to build my lifestyle, my confidence, and my body. After college I put on 15+lbs of muscle, dropped as low as 7% body fat, and competed in multiple obstacle course races - all while avoiding serious injury. I’ve learned what works and what doesn’t work.
Since leaving my old career, I’ve made it my mission to help others learn - with far less bumps in the road.
My Philosophy ↓
Philosophy
I’m tired of meeting so many people who are chronically under-eating and over-training just to find themselves feeling “stuck” or like they “just can’t” get to their goals. I want to help change all that!
Unfortunately the diets and workout plans we see advertised are often focused on losing as much weight as possible in as short a timeline as possible. This approach, and the mentality it comes with, leads us to injuries, disordered eating, set backs, and a big plateau after any short-lived change.
The best approach to sustained results isn’t a new diet (diets suck, btw) or a new, intense workout. What does work, however boring and unsexy it sounds, is building a strong foundation for health and fitness.
That means eating enough food before ever thinking about cutting calories, hydrating properly, getting quality sleep, managing stress, moving well, moving often, and training for a strong, resilient body.
With this in mind, I want to provide the most effective and efficient solutions possible. This means I’m here to be a coach that gives you a plan to execute on and the knowledge to become self-sufficient as you improve
